Raul Rosas Jr. submits Khasan Magomedsharipov for ACBJJ title
UFC bantamweight Raul Rosas Jr. submitted Khasan Magomedsharipov with a rear-naked choke in under eight minutes to claim the inaugural ACBJJ All-Stars title at ACBJJ 21 in Moscow.
Khasan stepped in as a late replacement after his older brother Zabit Magomedsharipov pulled out days before the event with an injury, per MMA Mania. The one-round, 10-minute submission-only bout ended when Rosas locked in a rear-naked choke and face crank combination to force the tap.
Zabit staredown sets up future grappling match
After the finish, Zabit entered the mat and faced off with Rosas in what appeared to be a setup for a future grappling match between the two. The former UFC featherweight contender had been scheduled to face Rosas before the injury scratch.
Rosas most recently fought at UFC 326, where he defeated Rob Font in a bout that failed to ignite. The 19-year-old has stayed active on the grappling circuit while waiting for his next octagon booking, having competed to a draw with former flyweight champion Deiveson Figueiredo at Hype Brazil before the Moscow trip.
Another highlight from the Moscow card came when UFC middleweight Brendan Allen dislocated the shoulder of former PFL and Bellator champion Ramazan Kuramagomedov to secure the win. No date has been announced for a potential Rosas-Zabit grappling match.
