Gane promises focus at White House event despite spectacle

Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

Ciryl Gane says he will block out the historic setting when he competes at UFC Freedom 250. The heavyweight contender has already visited the venue ahead of the card.

“We were there two weeks ago, so I got the feeling already, but yeah, it will be crazy. I'm going to be really focused on my fight, but for sure the pictures will be beautiful.”

What Ciryl Gane said

UFC Freedom 250 takes place at the White House, marking the first mixed martial arts event at the location. Gane competes at heavyweight, where he has been a fixture near the top of the division. The Frenchman previously challenged for the title.

What it moves

Gane's comment suggests he expects a visually striking backdrop but insists his preparation remains unchanged. The event's unusual location has drawn attention across combat sports, though the fighter emphasised his mental approach will be no different than for any other bout.
