Kayla Harrison became the UFC Bantamweight Champion, as she submitted Julianna Pena in the first round.

Pena won the belt after beating Raquel Pennington at UFC 307 in her last fight. It was the perfect response following her loss to Amanda Nunes, who would then announce her retirement. Pennington only had one loss in her last four bouts, but Harrison was on the rise.

Kayla signed with the UFC following her PFL departure. She secured her first win at UFC 300, beating the former bantamweight champion Holly Holm. Harrison followed it up with a win against Ketlen Vieira. Harrison has now added the biggest name on her resume. Kayla is now in a position to fight Amanda Nunes, who has said she wants the winner. Here is how the fight played out.
