Paddy Pimblett buys Ilia Topuria's UFC White House stool for $13,700
Paddy Pimblett dropped $13,700 on a piece of UFC White House memorabilia — the stool Ilia Topuria sat on between rounds before his corner retired him against Justin Gaethje in June.
The Liverpool lightweight posted about the purchase Monday, per MMA Fighting, calling it a "collector's item." The buy caps a weeks-long trolling campaign Pimblett has run against his former featherweight champion rival, who lost by fourth-round stoppage to Gaethje at the White House event while Pimblett went the distance with the same opponent in January.
Pimblett riding momentum after Saint Denis finish
Pimblett picked up the biggest win of his career earlier this month when he submitted Benoit Saint Denis in under a minute at UFC 329. The finish came just six months after his decision loss to Gaethje, a result that looks more respectable given Topuria's corner pulled him out before the fifth round against the same fighter.
The two lightweights have feuded for years and were briefly linked to a potential title fight that never materialized. Topuria has stayed mostly quiet since the Gaethje loss, though footage surfaced recently of him celebrating Spain's World Cup win.
Pimblett is expected to return later this year, though no opponent has been announced.
