Mike Perry vs. Dillon Danis MMA fight set for August 29
Mike Perry will face Dillon Danis in a welterweight MMA bout on Aug. 29 in Orlando, MMA Fighting confirmed Friday with Duel Arena promoter Dean Toole.
The matchup headlines the inaugural Duel Arena 1 card at Kia Center, put on by DuelBet. Happy Punch broke the news on Instagram earlier Friday. Toole told MMA Fighting the event will be "a hybrid card featuring MMA, boxing and kickboxing" with fights taking place in a ring rather than a cage.
Perry returns after Netflix stoppage of Diaz
Perry competes in his second straight MMA contest after leaving the UFC for a dominant run in bare-knuckle boxing. The 33-year-old returned to mixed martial arts in May at the Rousey vs. Carano event on Netflix, where he stopped Nate Diaz by second-round corner stoppage TKO. That win snapped a two-year absence from MMA competition.
Danis last fought in MMA at Misfits 22 in August 2025, submitting Warren Spencer in 15 seconds. Since then he has competed twice for Real American Freestyle in grappling matches, losing to Colby Covington by tech fall in March and to Khamzat Chimaev by pinfall in June. The Chimaev bout ended in a brawl.
Toole said the card will also feature influencer bouts and additional UFC veterans to be announced. Broadcast details are expected next week.
