Michel Pereira cut from UFC roster after Shara Bullet loss
Michel Pereira has been removed from the UFC roster following his unanimous decision defeat to Shara Magomedov at UFC Baku last month, according to MMA Fighting.
The Brazilian departs the promotion with a 10-6 octagon record spanning two weight classes. He was offered only a single-fight deal ahead of the Baku card after completing his previous contract with a split decision win over Zach Reese in February, which snapped a three-fight skid.
Pereira's complaints about Herb Dean in Baku loss
Pereira publicly criticized referee Herb Dean's performance in Azerbaijan, where Magomedov reportedly pulled his hair twice and landed an eye poke without losing a point. The fight ended 29-28 on all three scorecards for Magomedov.
The 32-year-old welterweight rode an eight-fight win streak at one stage during his UFC tenure, collecting bonuses for first-round finishes of Ihor Potieria, Michal Oleksiejczuk and Andre Petroski across seven months. That run ended with consecutive losses to Anthony Hernandez, Abus Magomedov and Kyle Daukaus before the Reese victory offered brief reprieve.
Pereira leaves the promotion having dropped four of his final five outings.
