Michael Chandler Opens as Favorite for McGregor's Final UFC Bout

Michael Chandler has opened as the betting favorite to face Conor McGregor in what could be the Irishman's final UFC bout under his current deal.

BetOnline.ag installed Chandler at 2/1 following McGregor's injury loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329, per Sherdog. The former two-division champion suffered a knee injury on his opening kick and could not continue, leaving oddsmakers to speculate on which matchup the promotion will pursue to close out his contract.

The Chandler bout was originally scheduled for 2024 before McGregor withdrew with an injury. Both fighters served as opposing coaches on "The Ultimate Fighter" but never made it to fight night.

Holloway Trilogy and Diaz Rematch Trail in Betting

A trilogy with Holloway follows at 3/1. The featherweight star called for the rubber match immediately after his stoppage win at UFC 329, which evened their rivalry at one apiece. Nate Diaz sits third at 5/1 despite no longer being on the UFC roster — a trilogy would require the promotion to re-sign the Stockton native, who also holds a 1-1 record against McGregor.

Jorge Masvidal is listed at 7/1 and Justin Gaethje at 8/1. Both Masvidal and Dustin Poirier, who appears at 12/1, have retired but reportedly remain open to Octagon returns. Paddy Pimblett rounds out the middle tier at 10/1.

Khabib Nurmagomedov, the former lightweight champion who held the belt from April 2018 to March 2021, carries the longest odds on the board at 20/1. McGregor has not announced a timetable for recovery from the knee injury.
