Conor McGregor has given his take on Tyson Fury’s fight with Oleksandr Usyk

The two will prepare for battle on October 28th, 2023, as Ngannou makes his boxing debut. And McGregor is fully aware of the difficulties that can emerge when facing a boxer.

The Notorious made his own boxing debut in 2017 when he faced off against arguably the greatest boxer of all time. Despite this being the case, McGregor managed to last ten rounds before being stopped. So when it came to Ngannou’s chances of securing a win, this is what McGregor had to say.

McGregor On Fury-Ngannou

"He has a tall ask. But any man can land a shot, Tyson does get hit. I’m excited to see it unfold. Tyson looks great in the build-up, fast, light, elusive. Could be a seriously stellar performance from Tyson Fury here. What are the variables in it? The Mike Tyson influx into this, in Francis Ngannou’s corner, is very interesting. Francis has power, Francis has big power… With power, anything can happen. Mike Tyson in the corner, that style could be the kryptonite of a long rangy distance type of fighter, like Tyson Fury… It is a very interesting bout," McGregor

Fury is ultimately the heavy favorite, given that he is a seasoned boxer. And if the Gypsy King does come out with a win, then a fight against Oleksandr Usyk is on the cards next.

Usyk On The Fury Fight Date

The duo will fight for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, with question marks over the actual fight date. Reports indicate that it will go ahead on December 23rd, 2023.

However, the initial noise out of Usyk’s camp suggested otherwise. The boxer indicated his preference for a 14-week camp, which would put the fight in 2024.

Those comments were dismissed by Fury, who claimed that December was when the fight would take place. And now it appears to be the case, as Usyk confirmed those words.

"I confirm that I’m fighting Tyson Fury or anyone on the 23rd of December, but it has to be Tyson Fury. I think his excellency brought in some strong arguments in the negotiations, and I’m really grateful to him for this. Tyson, I know you are scared to fight me, but you will be forced; you will have to. Step in the ring with me on December 23, and you will get beaten. I am here in boxing, not for the belt, not for money. I have my way, the way I walk.

"Whatever happens, I am really relaxed. I don’t care what is going to happen. I have nothing to lose. I have been undisputed already [at cruiserweight], and I am one step away from undisputed now, and I can become the undisputed champion again if I wish. “He [Fury] has a lot to lose, and I’ll explain why. He’s calling himself the King, but he has to prove that. Unfortunately, he’s the king with a naked a**. You will see how I challenge this talk guy," Usyk stated
