McGregor demands no contest ruling after UFC 329 knee injury

Conor McGregor wants the UFC to overturn his loss to Max Holloway at UFC 329 last weekend.

The former two-division champion suffered a knee injury just seconds into his welterweight return in Las Vegas, according to Sherdog. McGregor went down 69 seconds into the opening round after his leg gave out on the first kick he threw, unable to continue. He now believes the result should be ruled a no contest with all wagering reversed.

McGregor pushes for no contest, awaits scan results

McGregor posted his position on Instagram, writing that he expects scan results soon and the bout should be declared a no contest with bets returned. The statement comes as observers debate whether the Irishman entered the cage with a compromised leg — video showed him stumbling and grimacing while removing his shoes before the walk-out.

Both UFC CEO Dana White and McGregor's longtime coach John Kavanagh have said there was no pre-fight injury, per the report. The loss drops McGregor to 22-7 and marks his first appearance since 2021.

No word yet from the Nevada Athletic Commission on whether it will review the result.
