Mayweather Accused Of Fraud In Latest Lawsuit
Floyd Mayweather has been hit with a lawsuit, accusing him and his real estate partner, Jona Rechnitz, of running a "$4 million cash-for-access scam" for meetings with Elon Musk.
The lawsuit, filed by Jayson Winer, claims Floyd offered to set up a FaceTime call with Musk for $4 million. After Winer reportedly turned down the offer, a new deal was brokered: for $1 million. Winer alleges that the proof he was given—a screenshot of the text message—was fraudulent.
The lawsuit also states there would have been a video call between Winer and Musk in exchange for two of Winer’s designer watches, valued at over $160,000, and an additional $20,000 in cash. Winer claims the items were taken, but the video call with Musk never took place.

"As Defendants all were aware, Plaintiffs further relied on their misrepresentations by not pursuing other marketing relationships, causing The Eyes Collection to become available for free and causing Plaintiffs to suffer damages in the hundreds of millions of dollars or more. As a direct and proximate result of Defendants’ fraudulent acts, Plaintiffs has suffered substantial damages, which continue to accrue. WHEREFORE, Plaintiffs demand judgment against Defendants for damages, attorneys’ fees and costs, pre and post judgment interest, punitive damages, and such other and further relief as the Court deems just and proper," lawsuit
This would lead to the damage of Mayweather’s public image. Mayweather has a persona as a savvy, businessman. This lawsuit paints a very different picture: that of a man allegedly involved in scam. The lawsuit also raises serious questions about Mayweather’s business practices. The lawsuit names his real estate partner, Jona Rechnitz, who has a long and well-documented history of legal troubles. This is not the first time Mayweather has been hit with a lawsuit, and his history of legal battles and controversies could be a factor in how a jury views the case.
