Marlon Vera vs Charles Jourdain set for UFC 331 in September

Marlon Vera will meet Charles Jourdain at UFC 331 on Sept. 19, with the bout reportedly taking place at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California. Vera's management confirmed the matchup on social media Monday, per MMA Mania.

Vera enters on a four-fight skid, dropping decisions to Sean O'Malley, Deiveson Figueiredo, Aiemann Zahabi and David Martinez earlier this year. The No. 10-ranked bantamweight has not won since stopping Pedro Munhoz at UFC 292 in 2023 and has gone 1-5 in his last six outings.

Jourdain unbeaten since bantamweight drop

Jourdain has won all three fights since moving down from featherweight, earning performance bonuses each time. The Canadian submitted Victor Henry in his 135-pound debut, finished Davey Grant in the first round, then took a decision over Kyler Phillips. A fourth straight win would likely put Jourdain into the official top 15.

The fight is critical for Vera, who is defending his ranking against a surging contender. Jourdain gets the chance to beat a former title challenger and cement his place in the division. No other bouts have been announced for UFC 331.
