Marco Romero Signs With PBC After Tropicana Debut
Undefeated middleweight Marco Romero has signed with Premier Boxing Champions, nearly two years to the day after he stopped Victor Pradis at Tropicana Atlantic City.
The 20-year-old from Olathe, Kansas, brings a 14-0 record with 12 knockouts to the PBC roster, Boxing Insider reported Tuesday. He joins alongside unbeaten Colombian lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight Carlos Utria.
From Golden Gloves to PBC
Romero compiled a 136-5 amateur record and won 23 national titles before turning professional in 2024. He captured the National Golden Gloves championship that year and was named Outstanding Boxer of the Tournament. His professional debut came on July 26, 2024, when he stopped Pradis on a Boxing Insider Promotions card at the Showroom at Tropicana, broadcast live on DAZN.
The Kansas prospect has ended fights early throughout his career, with 11 of his 12 knockouts coming within three rounds. He opened 2026 with a sixth-round stoppage of veteran Vaught Alexander, pitched a shutout over William Langston in his first eight-rounder, and knocked out Andre Sherard in the first round in May.
"This signing feels like a dream come true," Romero said, per Boxing Insider. "I've always wanted to be on boxing's biggest cards and I'm super grateful for this opportunity with PBC."
John Brown, Romero's head trainer and manager at Turner Boxing Academy in Kansas City, has guided him since age seven. Brown told Boxing 247 earlier this year that 2026 would be Romero's breakout year. The promotion said details on Romero's and Utria's PBC debuts will be announced shortly.
