Logan Paul: Conor McGregor doing WWE because he's incapable of fighting

Logan Paul says Conor McGregor belongs in WWE now because the Irishman can no longer fight at the highest level.

McGregor returned from a five-year layoff at UFC 329 on July 11 and was stopped by Max Holloway in just 69 seconds. According to MMA Mania, the 38-year-old former champion self-destructed in his comeback attempt and now faces knee surgery that could keep him sidelined until late 2027.

Paul, who competes for WWE under the same TKO Group Holdings umbrella that owns UFC, said he immediately reached out to Stamford executives after the fight. He told listeners on his podcast that he texted his bosses with a pitch: make the fight happen between two WWE stars, because that is what McGregor has become. Paul added that the former two-division champion has fooled fans about his ability, much like Mike Tyson did before losing to Jake Paul in late 2024.

Paul believes age caught up with McGregor and that the Irishman is now incapable of fighting at the UFC level. McGregor still has one bout left on his UFC contract and also holds partial ownership in Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship, where he has expressed interest in competing. Whether he returns to MMA or pivots to professional wrestling remains unclear.
