Lawrence Okolie's VADA Test Shows An Adverse Finding
Heavyweight Lawrence Okolie’s VADA test showed an adverse finding ahead of his Tony Yoka fight on Saturday, as the bout could be in doubt.
Okolie currently occupies the WBO’s #1 contender spot, meaning a win solidifies his claim to facing unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk. Moving to heavyweight has suited “The Sauce,” who has secured three consecutive victories since the jump. His most recent outing in December 2025 saw him beat Ebenezer Tetteh via an early stoppage. After a devastating three-fight losing skid, Yoka successfully reset his career with a first-round knockout of Patrick Korte. However, an adverse finding means the fight might not go ahead as fans wait for an update.

Okolie Responds
This is a massive setback given Okolie has expressed his confidence ahead of this fight. However, the boxer has vowed to prove his innocence.
“Before anyone starts imagining the worst, following my bicep injury last year, I sustained an elbow injury on the same arm during this camp. I had a treatment on it and now we are here. I truly hope sense prevails. I will of course be fully cooperating with all relevant authorities and I’m confident any investigation will clear my name. I won’t be making any further comment at this time. Thank you for all your support and see you soon,” Okolie said
