Joe Rogan to call UFC White House despite criticizing event

Joe Rogan will handle color commentary at UFC White House on June 14 despite spending weeks criticizing the event.

The podcast host takes issue with both the timing of the Topuria vs. Gaethje fight card and what he views as unfavorable conditions for fighters meant to entertain political dignitaries, MMA Junkie reports. But Rogan's complaints about the Washington, D.C. show — part of the larger Freedom 250 festivities — will not keep him from the booth.

According to MMA Junkie, Rogan will work alongside former heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier on color while Jon Anik leads play-by-play duties. Bruce Buffer handles fighter introductions. Megan Olivi, Heidi Androl and Din Thomas round out the broadcast team.

Brendan Fitzgerald anchors the analyst desk with support from Michael Bisping, Dominick Cruz and Chris Weidman. Laura Sanko will cover the Freedom 250 weigh-ins at The Ellipse on Saturday.

Only overseas events typically keep Rogan from UFC broadcasts. Dana White previously told reporters he would not try to silence Rogan over his White House criticism, calling him "a grown ass man" who can speak his mind.

UFC White House airs live Saturday night with featherweight champion Ilia Topuria defending against former lightweight title challenger Justin Gaethje in the main event.
