Jessie Rosas On Being Known As Raul's Brother

Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

Jessie Rosas accepted a UFC debut on one week's notice and says he has no issue being introduced as Raul Rosas Jr.'s older brother.

The 23-year-old got the call last week while driving to training, MMA Fighting reports. His manager told him he had a fight at UFC Vegas 120 on Saturday against Miles Johns. Rosas said yes immediately. He enters the octagon with an 8-1 record built on three straight wins, and his younger brother will be in his corner alongside their father and another sibling.

Rosas Plans To Carve His Own Lane After First Fight

Raul has mentioned his fighting family after nearly every UFC win, promising that his siblings would eventually join him on the roster. Jessie becomes the first to make it, with older brother Kevin and sister Kenya also on the prospect radar. "It doesn't bother me," Rosas told MMA Fighting when asked about the constant Raul comparisons. "I'll take it if that's what they want to know me for. In the future, they'll know me for winning fights."

Rosas hopes to stay active after his debut. He mentioned the Noche UFC card in Arizona this September and UFC 331 in Los Angeles as potential landing spots, with the L.A. show offering a chance to share a card with Raul for the first time. When asked if he would copy his brother's signature celebration, Rosas said he had not decided yet but might throw out a "chiwiwi" if he gets the finish.

UFC Vegas 120 takes place Saturday at the APEX in Las Vegas.
