Jake Paul eyes college football, NFL after boxing career

Jake Paul says he wants to leave boxing behind for college football and a run at the NFL.

The YouTube star turned professional boxer made the claim in recent comments to fans, according to MMA Mania. "I'm being serious," Paul reportedly said when pressed on whether the football ambition was genuine or another publicity stunt.

What a football pivot would mean for Paul's boxing future

Paul, 29, has fought a string of high-profile opponents since turning pro in 2020, most recently facing Anthony Joshua in a non-title heavyweight bout in Miami last December. No formal announcement about stepping away from the ring has been made, and the YouTuber-boxer gave no timeline for when he might attempt to join a college program or pursue an NFL roster spot.

Paul played high school football in Ohio before launching his social media career but has no collegiate or professional football experience. The typical path to the NFL involves years of college competition and draft eligibility, neither of which applies to a 29-year-old with no post-secondary playing history.

Whether the football talk leads to an actual camp invite or remains idle speculation, Paul's next boxing match has not been scheduled.
