Ian Garry has disconnected from social media ahead of his UFC 330 title fight.

The Irish welterweight's recent comments advocating for women's leadership and plant-based diets drew criticism from fans and fellow fighters, but Garry told Betvictor Casino he has not seen any of it. "What do I think about online backlash? I have no idea what you're talking about," he said, per MMA Junkie. "I have absolutely no idea about any backlash or any criticism because I haven't been online."

Garry's Social Media Strategy Before Makhachev Fight

The 28-year-old said he and his team coordinate posts to promote interviews and podcasts but otherwise avoid scrolling. "I do not scroll and look at comments. I do not scroll and look at tagged photos," Garry said. "Me and my team sit down, we post, we talk about the caption, and that's it. I don't need to see anyone else's opinion of me or what I choose to do in my life."

Garry fights reigning welterweight champion Islam Makhachev in the UFC 330 main event on Aug. 15 in Philadelphia. The unorthodox matchup sees Makhachev move up from lightweight to defend at 170 pounds against the streaking Irish contender, who carries a 17-1 record into the five-round Paramount Plus headliner.
