Eddie Hearn disputes Dana White's Joshua-Fury promotion claims
Matchroom Sport chairman Eddie Hearn has disputed claims from UFC CEO Dana White regarding who will promote a potential Anthony Joshua vs. Tyson Fury heavyweight clash.
White recently stated he would serve as lead promoter for the fight and that Hearn plays no role in negotiating the bout's contracts. Hearn rejected both assertions, according to ESPN, saying White's characterization of the promotional landscape is inaccurate.
Hearn's role in Joshua-Fury negotiations
The Matchroom boss has long been involved in talks for a Joshua-Fury showdown, which would crown an undisputed British heavyweight champion. White's involvement stems from his Zuffa Boxing venture, which signed a promotional deal with Fury earlier this year.
Hearn indicated he remains an active participant in structuring any Joshua fight, including a potential meeting with Fury. The two camps have previously come close to finalizing the bout on multiple occasions, only for negotiations to collapse over purse splits and site fees.
No date has been announced for Joshua-Fury, though both fighters are currently free of contractual obligations that would block a spring or summer showdown.
