Fans Worry After Reviewing Crawford's Training – ‘Canelo In Five'
Boxing fans have reacted to Terence Crawford’s training ahead of his fight with Canelo Alvarez.
Crawford will box for the first time since last August when he defeated Israil Madrimov to become the WBA Junior Middleweight Champion. The victory made him a four-weight world champion as he announced his decision to face Canelo. The fight will see Crawford jump up two weight classes as he chases undisputed in a third weight class.
The major test for Crawford will be the extra weight. Jermell Charlo showed that when he jumped up to face Canelo. He was slower than usual, while he did not have the same pop on his shots. Charlo was also dropped, as Canelo could have stopped him had he stepped on the gas.
Crawford showed he could get hit in the Madrimov fight, as the latter regularly connected with big shots. Similar shots from Canelo could do more damage, although Canelo’s last stoppage was back in 2021 against Caleb Plant.
Crawford will also have to have a decisive victory. Canelo is considered the cash cow of the sport, getting the nod in the biggest fights. He had arguably lost the first GGG fight, which was declared a draw. It is tough to see Crawford getting a knockout, although he is capable of outboxing Canelo like Floyd Mayweather had done, as fans gave their insights over the fight.
"That’s why we fight the fight. We all gonna see if the weight is gonna make a difference or not. Canelo’s the face of boxing. He’s the best fighter for Terence Crawford and the biggest fight. That’s why I wanna take the opportunity to share the ring with another great," Crawford said
