Fans React To Canelo-Crawford Airing On Netflix – ‘No One Wants This'

Boxing fans have reacted to the news that Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford will air on Netflix. 

The fight will take place on September 13, as Canelo defends his Undisputed Super Middleweight Title. He defeated William Scull in his last fight to become undisputed at 168 for the second time. Meanwhile, Crawford jumps up two weight divisions after having beaten Israil Madrimov to become the WBA Junior Middleweight Champion. The fight will be the third time that Netflix shows a boxing fight. Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson became the most-streamed fight ever, while Katie Taylor vs. Amando Serrano 3 will be the second one on July 11.

The Paul-Tyson card experienced mass criticism. The main event failed to live up to the hype, as Tyson was past his best. Tyson also entered the fight with a compression sleeve on his knee, showing he was not 100 percent. The stream also experienced technical issues, with many complaining the feed had broken down. However, Netflix appeals to a crossover fanbase, giving the fight more exposure. Dana White will co-promote the event with the Saudis, as they were confident they would deliver.
