Fans Predict Petr Yan Vs. Marcus McGhee – ‘He's Pulling An Upset'

Petr Yan faces Marcus McGhee at UFC Abu Dhabi, as fans gave their predictions.

Yan is the former UFC Bantamweight Champion, who has regained his form following his losses to Merab Dvalishvili, Sean O’Malley, and Aljamain Sterling. He is on a two-weight win streak, having beaten Song Yadong and Deiveson Figueiredo, respectively. Yan has said he would like to run things back with Merab, who faces Cory Sandhagen next. McGhee is equally on a good run of form. He has racked up four straight wins, with three finishes and a decision victory over Jonathan Martinez in his last bout. McGhee has the physical advantages, standing at 5’8” and a 69-inch reach. However, this is the biggest challenge of his career.

Pre-Fight

"I am hoping for that [title shot]. I think it’s the right thing to do. I don’t think there’s anybody who is ranked higher that deserves this more than I do. I think with a competent win this Saturday, I’ll make sure to cement my place as the next contender…It’s very interesting to me to see what I would do in a fight against him. I now understand that in the five rounds we had, I probably threw my right hand four times. I’m interested to see how the fight would play out differently," Yan said

"Honestly, I don’t hit the ground as much as well, but I have grappling skills as well, and I definitely see us hitting the ground at some point as well. So I definitely think that up and down is going to be there. It’s going to be a full mixed martial arts fight," McGhee stated
