Fans Predict Liam Paro Vs. David Papot – ‘A Tough Fight'
Liam Paro is set to face David Papot in a IBF welterweight title eliminator on September 18 as fans predicted their winner.
Paro (26-1, 16 KOs) is making his welterweight debut after a successful run at 140 pounds. The Australian won the IBF belt with a victory over Subriel Matias but lost it in his first defense to Richardson Hitchins. He has since bounced back with a TKO victory over Jonathan Navarro in June.
Meanwhile, Papot (30-0-1, 5 KOs) is not known for his knockout power, however, Papot has built his undefeated streak with a blend of technical boxing and high-volume punching. He is coming off a TKO victory over Josh Wagner in his last bout. Here is how the fans saw the fight playing out.
Pre-Fight
"We’re both gunning for that one spot at the title table. I hope he keeps that confidence after I crack him a few times. He’s a crafty, slippery boxer. High stakes makes for a lot of excitement. I can’t wait. He’s done something right, he’s undefeated, so you’ve got to respect that. Undefeated fighters are dangerous. But I’m going to be the one to piece the puzzle together. I respect him, but I can’t wait to get hands on this guy," Paro said
"We’ll leave [for Australia] on September 7th and arrive on the 9th. I like challenges outside of France and it’s always exciting to compete against the best. Paro was a world champion at super-lightweight, so he is one of the best. Now, if I want to be one of the best, it’s up to me to do what’s necessary on September 18," Papot stated
