Dustin Poirier rips Nate Diaz performance against Mike Perry
Dustin Poirier slammed Nate Diaz's recent showing against Mike Perry and doubled down on his challenge to fight the Stockton veteran at welterweight.
Poirier told fans that Diaz "looked like dog shit" on Saturday night, per Sherdog, and said his opponent has no room to talk after that performance. The former interim lightweight champion repeated his offer to move up to 170 pounds and re-enter the drug testing protocol for a bout with Diaz.
Poirier promises knockout if Diaz accepts
"My invitation is still out there," Poirier said in a video posted to social media. "At 170, I will go back in the drug testing protocol. I will knock Nate Diaz complete out." Diaz recently shut down retirement talk following the Perry fight, telling reporters the show goes on.
The two have circled each other for years without landing a deal. Poirier last fought at UFC 302 in June, dropping a fifth-round submission loss to Islam Makhachev in a lightweight title fight. Diaz has not competed in the UFC since 2022 and took the Perry matchup under boxing rules.
No date or venue has been announced for a potential Poirier-Diaz clash at welterweight.
