Dustin Poirier was arrested for public drunkenness at an Atlanta airport, and footage of the incident has prompted a wave of responses from his fighting peers.

TMZ released video Tuesday showing Poirier in an aggressive confrontation with a police officer after being removed from a flight. The situation ended without physical violence, but not before the retired lightweight verbally abused the officer and several bystanders, MMA Fighting reports.

Following the video's release, Poirier issued a statement saying he had reached "the point where I need some help." Bobby Green defended the former title challenger before the footage went public, telling his followers that fighters should be allowed to drink on Father's Day. "With all the shit we go through, let me enjoy my drink and leave me the f*ck alone," Green said, per MMA Fighting.

Colby Covington took a harsher stance, targeting Poirier with multiple criticisms over the arrest. Other fighters weighed in across social media as the video circulated Tuesday afternoon.

Poirier retired from competition following a unanimous decision loss to Max Holloway at UFC 318 in New Orleans last July. No court date has been announced for the Atlanta incident.
