Dillon Danis: McGregor will KO Holloway in three rounds at UFC 329
Dillon Danis expects Conor McGregor to knock out Max Holloway when the two meet at UFC 329 next month in Las Vegas.
McGregor returns to the octagon after five years out to face Holloway in a welterweight main event on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena. The Irishman opened as a heavy underdog at +300, with oddsmakers and observers favoring Holloway to overwhelm the former two-division champion. But Danis, who worked as one of McGregor's primary training partners ahead of the Khabib Nurmagomedov fight in 2018, told MMA Fighting that people are misjudging McGregor's current form.
Danis dismisses ring rust concerns for McGregor
According to Danis, McGregor's commitment in camp has been exceptional. "He's always been a dedicated guy… Him not going to the White House card… He is living in the gym," Danis said, per MMA Fighting. "I don't believe in ring rust. I have been out for a long time and I come back. I believe ring rust is a mindset. And if anybody is gonna beat a mindset, it's Conor."
Danis went further, predicting a stoppage inside three rounds. "I think he's gonna knock out Max and then it's gonna be him and Islam," he said. "I don't think it makes it past three rounds, maybe two. I think [Conor] cleans his jaw."
Danis, who was involved in the post-fight brawl at UFC 229 following the Nurmagomedov bout, recently returned to competition in wrestling events under RAF. He is scheduled to face Khamzat Chimaev at RAF 10 in St. Louis.
McGregor holds a 22-6 record, while Holloway stands at 27-9. The bout marks the first time the two have met since McGregor defeated Holloway by decision in 2013.
