Former UFC welterweight title challenger Darren Till will make his BKFC debut against Aaron Chalmers at BKFC 90 on May 30 in Birmingham, England.

Till announced the matchup during an appearance on The Ariel Helwani Show on Tuesday, per Sherdog, revealing he signed a three-fight contract with the bare-knuckle promotion. BKFC confirmed the bout for Utilita Arena later the same day. Till left Misfits Boxing earlier this month after going 3-0 under that banner, most recently stopping Luke Rockhold last August.

Why Till accepted BKFC offer

The Liverpool native told Yahoo Sports on Tuesday he could not pass up the financial terms. “I have to just say, the reason Bare Knuckle happened is because I couldn’t turn down the offer,” Till said, as reported by MMA Fighting. “It was irrefusable. … It excited me. It got me juices flowing.”

Chalmers brings experience in the BKFC cage, having stopped Chas Symonds at BKFC 72 last year to improve to 2-0 in bare-knuckle competition. The 38-year-old former Geordie Shore cast member compiled a 5-2 record in MMA across stints with BAMMA and Bellator before transitioning to boxing and bare-knuckle.

Till left the UFC in 2022 after dropping four of his final five fights following a second-round submission loss to Tyron Woodley in a welterweight title bout in September 2018. Since then, he has won all four of his boxing contests across exhibition and sanctioned bouts. The card takes place one month from now in Till’s home country.
