Conor McGregor eyes quick turnaround after UFC 329: 'Getting busy'
Conor McGregor wants no time off after his UFC 329 clash with Max Holloway on July 11.
McGregor told ESPN from Las Vegas that he is ready to fight on a weekly basis if the promotion allows. "I love this arena," he said, per MMA Mania. "I love fight night, fight week. And God willing, I'm back here next week and the week after, how many weeks is in a year? 54? Here you go, I could fight every week if it's a go, you know? Before the injury, I had maybe three within the year. People don't recall that. And, yeah, there you go. We plan on getting busy here."
UFC pushback on McGregor's schedule
The Irishman has two fights remaining on his current UFC deal and is reportedly frustrated by the promotion's reluctance to book him more frequently. McGregor previously revealed that the UFC floated April 2027 for his next fight, which would mark another extended layoff. He acknowledged the standoff: "I've said my piece with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and their staging of my bouts, and they've said their piece. And it's kind of fallen on, 'Let it happen on Saturday night, and let's talk.' And I'm fine with that."
McGregor's absences from USADA testing pools and a whereabouts violation suspension have complicated matters, as has his brief campaign for Irish political office. Whether the UFC capitalizes on his current focus remains to be seen, but McGregor insists he is locked in and wants a full season of fights before his contract expires.
