Conor McGregor bringing kids to UFC 329 after leg break
Conor McGregor's four children will watch him fight for the first time when he faces Max Holloway at UFC 329 on Saturday, the former two-division champion confirmed this week.
McGregor told TNT Sports his kids arrived in Las Vegas on Tuesday ahead of his comeback bout, five years after his last appearance. The Irish fighter said he kept his children away from previous fights deliberately and was relieved they missed his 2021 loss to Dustin Poirier, which ended with a broken leg. "I was happy and thankfully they weren't there to witness the leg break," he said, per MMA Fighting.
Why McGregor changed his mind about bringing his kids
McGregor's children were born in 2017, 2019, 2021, and 2023, giving him multiple chances to bring them cageside before now. But the hostility around the Poirier trilogy and the severity of that injury made him grateful for their absence then. This time felt different.
The former champion spent Tuesday evening with his kids before returning to his team house to begin final weight preparations. "My inspiration and my aim is let them watch their daddy in all his glory," McGregor said.
McGregor has been away from competition since July 2021. The Holloway rematch marks his first octagon appearance since the injury that required extensive rehabilitation. First bell is scheduled for Saturday night in Las Vegas.
