Claressa Shields' Record Boxing Deal – What Does It Mean?
Undisputed Heavyweight Champ Claressa Shields has secured the richest contract in women’s boxing, signing a multi-fight partnership with Salita Promotions and Wynn Records that guarantees her at least $8 million.
Shields could have become a free agent following her latest undisputed title defense over Lani Daniels in July. Despite reportedly fielding multiple offers, she chose to remain loyal, staying with her promoter, Dmitriy Salita.
The partnership is unique, featuring the inclusion of Wynn Records, a music promotion agency that will help expand Shields brand. Shields is the first athlete to join the label. Shields achievements are unmatched: she has secured world titles in five weight classes, including unifying the undisputed crowns at junior middleweight, middleweight, and heavyweight.
The inclusion of Wynn Records is designed to transform Shields from a boxing champion into a global cultural icon. Shields gains access to cross-promotional opportunities that blend sports, music, and media, reaching audiences far outside the traditional boxing demographic. This model could help her replicate the success of stars like Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor.
