Nate Diaz 'Fights' A Fan After Autograph Request

Nate Diaz fought a fan in a lighthearted manner after the latter requested an autograph.

Diaz is considered one of the most popular fighters in the UFC. However, he has not had a UFC fight since beating Tony Ferguson at UFC 279 in 2022. Since then, he has focused on his boxing. He made his boxing debut against Jake Paul last August. He got off the canvas to make it to the final. However, Diaz came up short, losing via a unanimous decision.

He followed that up with a boxing bout against Jorge Masvidal. It was a rematch of their 2019 clash at UFC 244. The fight was stopped after Diaz sustained a cut over his eye, giving Masvidal a win. The win made Masvidal the first-ever BMF Champion. While he has been linked with a return to the UFC, Diaz appears in no rush. His coach, Cesar Gracie, says it would take a big offer for him to return due to his commercial pulling power.

Diaz’s UFC Return

“Millions and millions of dollars, whatever they’re paying their highest people. Nate is such an icon of the sport. He’s fought and deserves the things he’s gotten. He had to get everything the hard way. “He brings star power with him. The event (in Anaheim) was sold out. It was all Nate Diaz over there. No one would have gone to that show without Nate Diaz, so I don’t know. It was so huge. His fan base is so incredible,” Cesar Gracie said

Nevertheless, a UFC return is not out of the question. After the Masvidal win, Diaz indicated his desire to fight Jake Paul again. After the Paul loss, The Problem Child offered him $10 million to fight in MMA with the PFL. Diaz did not take up the offer, but it could happen later down the line. Diaz also expressed his desire to return to the UFC, with an eye on a title shot.

“I’m going to beat Jake Paul and I’m down to fight the highest-ranked boxer I can find. My main objective is to be the best fighter in the world, so I want to go back and get a UFC title. [UFC welterweight champion] Leon Edwards, Jake Paul and anybody the else, you’re dead,” Diaz stated

Diaz ‘Fights’ A Fan

But in the meantime, Diaz is enjoying his time out of the Octagon. The following clip shows a fan approaching Diaz for an autograph by signing his gloves. Nate responds by requesting the fan to fight him. Nate naturally came out on top in a lighthearted spar. The fan tried to land a double-back fist. Diaz laughed it off as he took the fight to the ground. Diaz then pretended to land numerous punches on the fan before giving him his autograph.

While Diaz’s next fight is uncertain, incidents like this will only increase his fanbase. It reminds MMA fans of the reason why he has developed such a big following.
