Murodjon Akhmadaliev Warns Inoue – ‘I’m The Best fighter’
Murodjon Akhmadaliev has warned Naoya Inoue about facing him.
Following Inoue’s win over Marlon Tapales to become the undisputed super bantamweight champion, Inoue intended to stay at 122 pounds and have three fights. His promoter mentioned three possible names that could be in the running: Luis Nery, Akhmadaliev, and John Riel Casimero.
Akhmadaliev was in attendance to watch Inoue stop Tapales. Akhmadaliev’s last fight was a win over Kevin Gonzalez. He is currently ranked by all four governing bodies, with a record of 12-1. The former IBF & WBA super bantamweight champion is the current WBA mandatory. Nery, the WBC mandatory, will likely get the first fight before Akhmadaliev gets his shot. But the latter was feeling confident ahead of a potential fight.
Akhmadaliev On Inoue
“Of course, as a fighter, as a champion, I feel like I’m the best fighter in this division. I feel like I have the tools needed to beat Inoue. I feel like I have the most power in this division. I feel like I’m the best fighter, the whole package that he hasn’t faced. I will give him the challenge that he hasn’t faced before. I definitely feel that, and I feel I can beat him. But as far as politics and who he’s going to fight, that’s not up to me, but my goal is not Inoue. My goal is the world title, especially my world title, IBF & WBA,” Akhmadaliev said
Inoue’s power is not to be underestimated either. He has knocked out his last seven opponents. Since moving to the super bantamweight division, he stopped Stephen Fulton to claim his WBC and WBO belts. That was then followed up by the stoppage of Tapales to become undisputed.
The performance showed Inoue’s punching power could carry up the weight classes as he did start his career at light flyweight. But one thing about weight classes is that they exist for a reason. There are question marks over how much Inoue can increase in weight.
Inoue’s Power
He aspires to become a five division champion, requiring him to move up to featherweight. Akhmadaliev would have the chance to upset the apple cart if he gave the Japanese his first defeat. But at the same time, he recognised that the Japanese was capable of stopping his opponents.
“I respect and admire what Inoue does in the ring. He moves up weight classes, and he’s knocking everyone out. That’s amazing. There’s not too many guys that I’m watching their fights, and he’s one of the guys that I’m watching. Again, I think I’m so much different than anyone that he’s ever fought, and I can take a punch, for sure, and I can also punch,” Akhmadaliev stated
Inoue is arguably the best pound-for-pound fighter, so a win for Akhmadaliev would put him up as one of the best fighters. ‘Find all the latest boxing news and MMA breaking updates on boxingnews.com’
