Marrying Sean had been the best decision for Diane… or so she thought. Everything started great, and she can’t help but fall in love with her husband, especially with how accepting he is.

Over time, Kylie slowly got comfortable with Sean. Which was naturally what was expected to happen. This made Diane incredibly happy, seeing her two favorite people bond together.
One image remains with her. She kept ignoring the look of fear on Kylie’s face the first time the kid saw Sean. It’s just first meeting jitters, Diane convinced herself.

Then it happened. Sean proposed and Diane was over the moon! Of course, she still had to consider her daughter in all this.
Seeing how her husband and daughter got along well, Diane thought saying yes was the right decision. Little did she know it wasn’t the case for her.

Sean was the dream guy for Diane. He was thoughtful, considerate, and most of all, loving. He seems to be the complete opposite of all the men Diane dated before, where it always ended in heartbreak.

During the first weeks of Sean and Diane’s marriage, she learned how to appreciate her husband so much. She can see how he’s making extra effort to bond with Diane’s daughter.

What surprised Diane about Sean’s request was the man’s insistence that he and Kylie should have alone time. Just to make the kid get used to his presence even when Diane’s not around. This makes sense, and Sean was a good guy. His intentions are only good… that’s even why Diane married him!
She’s never been away from Kylie for so long so Diane was reluctant to the idea.

Diane kept reminding herself that she married Sean for a reason. She trusts her husband enough to leave her kid alone with him… which was a no-brainer as it’s supposed to be an unwritten clause when she signed their marriage certificate. And truly, Sean’s words make sense!
So Diane told him she could get some coffee at the weekend to give them some alone time. She could only hope it would go well!
The First Time

Diane was admittedly a bundle of nerves sitting in a coffee shop and waiting for about two hours before going back home. She tried not to think of what was happening in the house if everything was going great. She forced herself to focus on her coffee and treat this as a break from her life.
She could only wonder what was happening back at home if Kylie was having fun…
Went Well?

When Diane got back home, everything seemed normal. She desperately tried to look for something out of place or even a hint of frown on her daughter’s face. But Kylie remained on her spot by the sofa, playing with her blocks.
Her husband… Sean was just watching her while watching the TV, the typical babysitting duties…
Relieved

The normalcy gave a sense of relief for Diane. Her worry’s all for naught after all! She tried not to show her happiness too much and stopped the skip on her steps. She made her presence known to both, with Kylie greeting her with a tight hug.
When Sean saw that she was already home, Diane made sure to hug her husband a bit tighter, a nonverbal apology for all her doubts.
20 The Next Ones

After the first try, Diane was more okay to say yes to Sean’s request to spend alone time with Kylie. She was more than happy to see the outcome of their bonding times, she looked forward to the day when Kylie would genuinely treat Sean as a father figure.
It usually happened during weekends, and her daughter seemed fine right after so Diane had no problem with it… She should have known things were about to get worse.

Diane knew she should have followed her gut feeling right from the start. After a few times her husband and daughters spent alone times, she noticed something different with her daughter.
Over the past few weeks, Kylie’s gone quieter and more withdrawn. She’s a far cry from the bubbly child Diane was used to.

She went to comfort her and quietly asked her husband what happened. The man just looked helpless and shrugged, admitting he didn’t know since they were playing a while ago.

Doubt filled Diane upon hearing her husband’s words. How could he not know when he was the one with Kylie over the past hour? Her kid was obviously in hysterics!
Sean knew something was going on with Diane, so he left to get some food, removing himself from the scene. That’s when Diane asked Kylie what happened. Her answer shocked and scared her.

After her questions, it only resulted in more crying! As she comforted her daughter, Diane was already plotting how to discover what her husband had been doing to her daughter. The next days, Diane purposely timed buying all the materials she would need for her plan to be successful.

Right from the coffee shop Diane stayed every time Sean and Kylie bonded, she watched from her phone the hidden cameras she strategically placed in their house. Her body was on high alert over what would happen, ready to take action immediately.
She watched as her husband and daughter played. Guilt wracked her body as she watched her daughter let out a carefree laugh… so, what was wrong?
The Twist

Just as Diane planned how to apologize to her husband, she saw him lead her daughter to the room. That’s when she started to get nervous. Why was Sean leading her daughter to their bedroom?!
Was this it? She watched intensely through the cameras as the two entered the room… then what she saw made her gasp.
A Surprise

Her husband built a princess-themed fort in their bedroom, for her daughter! Diane watched as Kylie jumped in excitement. Her daughter was so happy it brought tears to her eyes. Even Diane was surprised at this gesture from her husband.
In haste, Diane immediately drove home, reciting in her head the apology she’d give to her husband. How could she doubt him?!

When Diane entered the house, Sean hugged her and Kylie dragged her to the room to show her new Dad’s surprise. Diane felt so guilty, she could not wait any moment more to tell her husband everything.
