Tyson Knocks Out His Sparring Partner - 'Mike Gonna Finish Jake'

Mike Tyson stopped his sparring partner with a brutal left hook to the body, ending the session immediately.

The training footage was shared as part of the build-up for his fight against Jake Paul on November 15. It is a historic moment since Netflix will air its first-ever boxing fight, which will see Tyson enter the boxing ring as a professional for the first time since 2005. That is when he lost to Kevin McBride, as he would go on to retire. Boxing fans have not seen him in a boxing ring in any capacity since his 2020 exhibition against Roy Jones Jr.

Paul Vs. Tyson

That fight sold over a million PPV views, ending in a draw. There are significant worries about this fight, primarily due to the age difference. Tyson is 58 and will take on the much younger Paul, who is 27. There is also a big discrepancy in their recent activity. Paul has boxed three times since last December. He knocked out Andre August, Ryan Bourland and Mike Perry in his last bout. However, it is important to remember that the August and Bourland wins were first-round finishes.

Meanwhile, the Perry bout ended in the sixth round. Therefore, Paul has not had a lot of ring time, even if he has had three bouts. There are also worries about whether Tyson can roll back the years. He has made significant changes to his training camp to get himself ready. This has included banning weed, sex and going on a raw meat diet. But he did have to pull out of the initial date, which was set for July 20. This was after he suffered from an inflamed ulcer, as many questioned whether this fight should go ahead.

Tyson’s Sparring

However, the sparring footage shows Tyson is ready to face Paul. The clip above shows him backing up his sparring partner before he lands a left hook to the midsection. The sparring partner falls on the ropes. That is when Tyson’s trainer comes in to say that the session is over, leaving Tyson pumped at what he had just done. But Paul did something similar when he had a sparring session.

But there are worries that Paul will gas out in this fight since he is not used to fighting with the extra weight. He has shown a tendency to slow down in the latter part of his fights, which could become more pronounced if he is taking big shots from Tyson. However, The Problem Child showed that he was ready to go to war. The following clip demonstrates Paul’s boxing skills. He lands a big right hand, sending his sparring partner to the floor. But it was Tyson’s footage that got boxing fans talking as they were divided over what they could expect.
