Mike Tyson Joins ‘Make America Healthy Again’ Campaign

Mike Tyson has joined a national healthy eating initiative backed by President Donald Trump administration, as part of a “Make America Healthy Again” campaign.
The campaign aims to combat America’s obesity crisis by reducing the consumption of ultra-processed foods. The 59-year-old former undisputed heavyweight champion appeared alongside U.S. Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. at an event in Washington D.C., where he described the mission as “the biggest fight of my life.”

Tyson also appeared in a Super Bowl commercial where he reflected on the death of his sister, Denise, who passed away at age 25 from a heart attack linked to obesity. He also shares his own battle with “junk-food addiction,” revealing he once reached 345 pounds and struggled with severe “self-hate,” so he wanted to kill himself. Tyson urges viewers to reject ultra-processed products, concluding with the blunt warning: “Processed Food Kills.”
“This is the biggest fight of my life. I want to be a hero in this particular field because it affects my life. The most important fight of my life isn’t in the ring. I’m not fighting for a belt. I’m fighting for our health. Processed foods are killing us. We have been lied to, and we need to eat real food again,” Tyson said

Elsewhere, tickets are on sale for the Mike Tyson Invitational, a three-day amateur boxing showcase in Las Vegas on March 12–14 at the Radiant Brand Complex. Tyson’s goal is to revitalize the American amateur circuit by providing prospects and Olympic hopefuls with the high-level exposure, mentorship, and professional atmosphere typically reserved for the pro ranks. Before his pro career, Tyson was a standout amateur, securing Junior Olympic gold in 1981 and 1982 and the National Golden Gloves title in 1984.
