Michael Gukas plays the role of former two-weight world champion, Chris Eubank Sr., in the upcoming film, The Force: The Michael Watson Story, which is expected to be released next year.

The film looks into story of Eubank Sr., who won the WBO belts at both 160 and 168 pounds. Specifically, the film centers on the 1991 victory Eubank Sr. secured over Michael Watson, a bout that resulted in a brain injury for Watson. Watson’s subsequent recovery—which saw him emerge from a coma and miraculously regain movement, speech, and writing —is one of the most inspiring stories in sporting history. Watson is also known for his charity work, having completed a ‘miracle mile’ with the help of Eubank Sr. this year. That helped raise over £100,000 for The Brain & Spine Foundation, which is now i-Neuro.

“Michael has just described it as a walk in the park, but don’t be fooled. I could feel the pain he was going through when he was on my shoulder. It was considerable. It’s always emotional when I’m back with Michael, always. We’re looking at the King. He has stayed alive over all these years and is testimony of what can happen to fighters. He is inspiration personified. How do you stay alive after what he’s been through? You saw him, he was a vegetable,” Eubank Sr. said
