McGregor Wins $200K On Pereira Bet At UFC 307

Conor McGregor made $200,000 after putting a $1 million bet on Alex Pereira to beat Khalil Rountree Jr. at UFC 307.

Pereira was making another defense of his UFC Light Heavyweight Title. He had stopped Jiri Prochazka in his last fight at UFC 303. He was facing Rountree Jr., who had five consecutive wins, four of which were by knockout. Alex was in impressive form. This was his third fight this year, and he stopped Rountree in the fourth round. McGregor put down $1 million and won himself $200,000, as shown by the following post.

McGregor’s Win

This is not the first time that McGregor has won a significant money. He also won after backing Nate Diaz to beat Jorge Masvidal in their boxing match. It was a rematch of their UFC 244 clash in 2019 which Masvidal won. Gamebread won after the bout was stopped at the end of the third round to become the BMF Champion. In their boxing fight, Diaz won a majority decision. McGregor bet $500,000 and won $1,625,000.

While McGregor has shown that he can continue to win outside of the octagon, the same cannot be said for his UFC career. He has not had a UFC fight since losing to Dustin Porter in 2021 at UFC 264. That was his third loss out of his last four UFC bouts. He also suffered a broken leg, which has kept him out since then. His plans on returning were damaged when he withdrew from his June 29 fight at UFC 303. He pulled out with a broken toe, while Michael Chandler moved on to rematch Charles Oliveira, which will take place at UFC 309 on November 16.

McGregor Vs. Gaethje

Dana White stated that McGregor would fight early next year, but his opponent remains unseen. One of those opponents who could have been in the running is Justin Gaethje. Gaethje recently lost his BMF Title after getting knocked out by Max Holloway at UFC 300 in the final round. He decided to trade with Holloway in the center. There was a second left in the fight before Blessed landed a big right hand to end proceedings. Justin has not fought since then. However, his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, confirmed that McGregor rejected a fight on five occasions.

“Let’s be real, Conor McGregor will never, will never, will never… he got offered this fight at least five times. At least five. He never wanted to have to do anything with Justin Gaethje. [And] he said the reason he didn’t want to fight Justin was because Justin talked bad to him on Twitter and Instagram before and the history we have with him.

“He didn’t want to lose to our team, I guess. The last five, six years we offered Justin Gaethje so many times. Never once, never once, this man—Even the UFC, told me this, ‘Hey, leave him alone. Don’t talk with him. He doesn’t like to fight people who talk bad to him on the internet,” Abdelaziz said
