McGregor Weighs In On Paul vs. Tyson – ‘I Hope Mike Rattles The Little Dope’
Conor McGregor has given his take on Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson, which will take place on November 15.
Tyson will make a historic comeback to professional boxing at the age of 58 from the AT&T Stadium in Texas, where 80,000 people are expected to attend. It is his first professional boxing fight since 2005 when he came up short against Kevin McBride. Since then, he has had one exhibition against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020, which ended in a draw. Tyson worried his fans when he pulled out of the initial July 20 date for the Paul fight. His team revealed that he suffered from an inflamed ulcer, as there were suggestions that the fight should be called off altogether.
Tyson’s Opponent
Mike Perry stepped in as a replacement, and Paul knocked him out in the sixth round. However, Tyson has been sharing his training footage, which shows that he is ready to face off against Paul. He recently revealed that he would be the most vicious that he has been since his professional boxing career. However, questions remain over whether his body can hold up for the eight rounds, which are two minutes long.
Paul has been much more active since his only defeat against Tommy Fury. He came back with four wins in a row. Victories against Nate Diaz, Andre August, Ryan Bourland and Perry in his last bout set up the Tyson fight. McGregor is a fan of Tyson, having recently shown off one of his marijuana-related products during a live stream with the betting company Duelbits.
Once Tyson’s boxing career was over, he formed his company, Mike Tyson 2.0, to sell marijuana-related products. McGregor also ventured outside of his UFC fighting career by setting up his line of cigars. These ventures have made Tyson and McGregor crossover stars, as the Irishman gave his take on the upcoming fight. He desperately wanted Tyson to stop Paul.
McGregor And Tyson
“Mike Tyson, this is your stock…They’re wearing 14oz gloves and it’s two-minute rounds….I hope Mike rattles the little dope, no one gives a [damn] about him. How is that even in the Dallas stadium? You had a little health scare, I don’t know what happened to you on the plane but you look great now mate, you look great now for real so off you go, you love to see it,” McGregor said
Tyson is also a big fan of McGregor as he attended the Irishman’s fight with Floyd Mayweather Jr. McGregor made his boxing debut against arguably the greatest boxer ever. He lasted ten rounds before getting stopped. But Tyson was one of those who praised McGregor for managing to have lasted so long.
“[McGregor] never really had a boxing match in his life right? He went 10 rounds with the greatest fighter in the last 100 years of boxing. He went 10 rounds, scored punches on the greatest fighter in the last 20 years — 100 years. See, people ain’t looking at it. People just wanna say ‘The Black guy beat the White guy.’ They just want to see it. But look at what he had to fight against. And look at what he did when he fought against it,” Tyson stated
