McGregor Wants A Fourth Fight With Poirier, Pauls Reveals All On His MMA Debut

Conor McGregor is aiming to fight Dustin Poirier in a fourth fight later down the line.
The ‘Notorious’ has been out of the cage since his loss to Poirier in 2021. The current record between the pair is 2-1 in favor of Poirier, something which the Irishman is keen on changing.
The two-weight world champion recently enrolled into USADA, which requires fighters to provide two negative samples over six months before they can fight.
While a fight with Michael Chandler is being entertained for McGregor’s return in the summer, Poirier could become a name at some point.
McGregor On Poirier
“Let’s be real, it’s a must. Unfinished,” McGregor
McGregor’s return is being entertained for April, despite Dana White insisting that a summer return was being considered. At the same time, Poirier has expressed his intention to return at UFC 300.
However, the former was hopeful of facing Justin Gaethje in a trilogy fight after having been stopped by the Irishman in their UFC 291 bout in the second round.
“I would take that, for sure. For sure, I would take that fight. (UFC) 300 would be a great card to do it on, but we will see. If I was in Justin’s shoes, if he’s guaranteed a title shot, you might not want to risk it. But, hey, this is fighting. People get antsy. We’ll see what happens, but I’m definitely open to that,” Poirier stated
Paul On Diaz
Meanwhile, Jake Paul has outlined his plan for making his MMA debut in the PFL moving forward.
Paul is currently preparing to face Andre August on December 15th, 2023, in what will be the second professional boxer he has faced. The ‘Problem Child’ bounced back from his loss to Tommy Fury by securing a unanimous-decision win over Nate Diaz.
Following the fight, Paul expressed his desire to fight Diaz in MMA as a $10 million offer was made for a bout in the PFL. That failed to materialize, but it has not stopped Paul from outlining his future plans moving forward.
“It has to be a big name, but at the same time it has to be a fight where I think it’s 50/50. Nate Diaz is the perfect person for that. I genuinely, wholeheartedly know that I can beat him, but I also know it’s going to be a challenge. We want to make an MMA fight happen quickly. The opponent has to make a ton of sense…I’d have to really, really, really work for it, but that’s what excites me is going into these fights with it being a 50/50 chance of an outcome,” Paul stated
One of the sticking points in getting that fight made is that Diaz does align himself with the UFC. Despite not currently being under their banner, the MMA fighter has indicated his desire to return.
But with Dana White appearing reluctant to do any cross promotion with the PFL, that has left an MMA fight up in the air. So, moving forward, there are still plenty of hurdles to overcome.
