McGregor Tells Chandler His Toe Is Healed
Conor McGregor has told Michael Chandler that his foot is fully healed as he prepares to return to the UFC.
McGregor pulled out of his UFC 303 fight with Chandler after announcing that he had broken his toe. It was a major setback, delaying McGregor’s return further. He has not been in the Octagon since 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The defeat was accompanied by a broken leg, which has kept him out of action since then. McGregor hopes to be back by September.
However, current reports indicate he could fight on December 14. Chandler has been waiting patiently. He was offered a fight with UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev. However, Chandler appears not to have taken that up, waiting patiently for McGregor instead. Now, it appears Chandler has received that positive news. The following clip shows McGregor throwing some punches. Chandler reacted by wanting to know an update on McGregor’s foot. The Irishman confirmed it was fully healed.

“Hey…beggar — the foot is fully healed,” McGregor
Now, it is a question of when McGregor fights. He had been hoping to fight at The Sphere in Las Vegas. The UFC will become the first to host a combat sports event there. Dana White has already said that the UFC has spent $17 million to make it a historic event. The card will have fewer fights than usual, as the focus is on getting quality and quantity. The card will consist of ten fights, although no news has been announced about who will headline.
McGregor is naturally one of those names who could come into the mix. The live gate for the Chandler fight showed that he is still as popular as ever. It set a new record of over $20 million, while the press conference tickets were all gone in nine minutes. Those are the type of numbers that would make The Sphere a big event.
When Will McGregor Fight?
There are several possible options on the table when it comes to who could headline. Jon Jones is working his way back from his injury, although there are doubts about whether he will be ready in time. Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko could fight for a third time following their classic UFC Noche bout last year. They are in contention to appear on the card, but whether they will headline remains to be seen. Regardless, White promised a big card.
“When I say that I’m going to put on the greatest live sporting event in the history of combat sports, maybe in sports, period. I’m going in one night, one time, never again. It’s going to be the most unique…incredible show that you’ve ever seen in sports. We’re going to do 10 (fights). There will be a main, co-main, and obviously this card will be very Mexican-heavy,” White said
Current Card
Anthony Hernandez vs. Michel Pereira
Irene Aldana vs. Norma Dumont
Yazmin Jauregui vs. Ketlen Souza
Ignacio Bahamondes vs. Manuel Torres
