McGregor Sympathizes with Snoop Dogg's Difficulty in Giving Up Marijuana

Conor McGregor addressed rapper Snoop Dogg’s decision to give up Maruijna.

The pair are known for being on very good terms as the rapper was recently on hand to visit Dublin, Ireland, to perform at a concert. During the course of that process, Snoop managed to meet McGregor backstage at his concert as the Irishman made a visit.

And it appears that the pair did smoke some Maruijna, given McGregor’s following comments. In addition, the rapper also made an appearance at McGregor’s famous Black Forge, where he enjoyed some of the food that was on offer. And now that some time has passed, McGregor looked back at their meeting with a different perspective, given that Snoop no longer smokes the substance.

McGregor On Snoop

“The icon that is Snoop Dogg is off the marijuana. He is off the weed. He is actually off the smoke. After deep consideration with his family, he has decided to give up the smoke, was his exact terminology. God bless that man. God bless the legend Snoop Dogg. I wish him all the best. Bravo. He runs it. Sometimes you gotta say to yourself, you run it, it doesn’t run you. That man runs that game, it doesn’t run him. So I wish him all the best. We were in the Black Forge Inn a few weeks ago. He had an amazing show in Ireland, and we smoked a little bit after it. God bless him; what an icon,” McGregor

Outside of that, McGregor is hoping to get back to the octagon as soon as possible following his recent decision to enrol in USADA. The Irishman has had to deal with a turbulent period, which has kept him out of the cage since 2021, when he faced Dustin Poirier. The defeat resulted in him suffering a broken leg, which raised question marks over whether he would make a return. But now that this obstacle is close to being overcome, McGregor wanted to do the same when it came to Maruijna. The MMA fighter admitted that he did smoke a little when he had met the rapper, something which he was hoping to change moving forward.

“I’ve been off it for a few weeks here in the Middle East, and I’m feeling so much better for it. I’ve had pockets of difficulty with it, but what type of human being trying to get the best of themselves would inhale carcinogens into their chest cavity? It’s stupidity is what it is. You just have to say to yourself, do you run it, or does it run you? I feel better for it, albeit a few pockets of difficulty, but when you stick with it and begin to get the better of it, you’re a different human being,” McGregor

Once McGregor is back in the cage, then it will be possible to judge where the MMA fighter can realistically go. But in order to do that, he must get his life in order outside of the octagon. And there is no getting away from that.
