McGregor Reacts After Losing $500,000 – ‘What’s $500,000’

Conor McGregor has reacted after Paddy Pimblett called him out for a fight.
McGregor’s comments arrive following Pimblett’s fight with Michael Chandler at UFC 314. In his pre-fight predictions, McGregor backed Chandler to come out victorious. McGregor’s pick may have been influence by his desire to fight Chandler. They have been linked with the fight for a prolonged period, which started when they were rival coaches on The Ultimate Fighter. A June 29 date for UFC 303 had been agreed, with McGregor calling it the biggest comeback in ‘combat sports history.’
The fight never went ahead as McGregor suffered a broken toe. However, he was confident in Chandler beating Pimblett, as he had eyes on the winner. McGregor put his money where his mouth was by placing a $500,000 bet. Pimblett defied the odds to stop Chandler in the third round to move to 7-0. The win was the biggest of his career, earning him plaudits from Dana White. Pimblett called out McGregor, who has now given Paddy his props.
McGregor Reacts
“Chandler…Rest up, fair play. My history with Mike and the odds on him by KO swayed me to take the risk. My head did say Paddy. He’s improving but with a way to go yet. Although the division is woeful, it is equal, and equal brings good fights. So happy days, ya’s’r welcome. Ah well, what’s $500,000 to an M G like me, can you please remind me? More than your purse. I’ll get it back I’m sure. In fact, I just did,” McGregor said
McGregor is also facing backlash from Mike Perry. McGregor backed Perry to beat Jake Paul. However, the latter stopped him in their boxing bout. The result damaged Perry’s brand and, by extension, BKFC, where Perry is the biggest name. Perry has a 5-0 record since joining, having reinvented himself after leaving the UFC in 2021. Perry’s last BKFC fight was a win over Thiago Alves. McGregor reacted to Perry’s loss to Jake Paul by saying he was fired. Those comments did not sit well with Perry since McGregor is only a part-owner in BKFC. He has now told McGregor to be careful as he hyped up a possible fight.
Perry On McGregor
“It’s crazy. It’s 5-0 in bare knuckle as the ‘King of Violence’ in bare knuckle, guys really don’t want to jump at what I got because they have to face me to get it… The only guys that are even saying anything are the losers in bare knuckle and not getting anything to face anyone anyways ’cause no one knows who the f*** you are or who the f*** you fought.
“I mean, Conor McGregor is getting all this attention for just talking about bare knuckle. He’s never even faced anyone, I’m 5-0 in there. “No hate to him, man, he’s a good promoter. If that’s what he wants to do, you know, it’s all a lie out here… But, y’all know for a fact that you can’t come and see me in real life to my face and try me, or I’ll f*** you up, b****,” Perry said
