McGregor Opens A Record Label
Conor McGregor has announced his record label, Greenback Records, as he enters the music business.
The Irishman is working his way back from injury after breaking his toe, forcing him to pull out of his UFC 303 against Michael Chandler. It was a massive blow for McGregor, who has not had a UFC fight since breaking his leg in his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in 2021. That was the third loss McGregor had in four UFC fights. McGregor is now 36, meaning he is at the tail end of his career. While there is uncertainty over whether he will fight again, his life outside the Octagon continues to take shape. He has launched his record label as he plans for life after retirement.

“Greenback Records is here! We are forming a stable of artists that will avail of the best deals in the music industry. Period! I don’t [mess] about with business and this business will be no different. Welcome to Greenback Records,” McGregor said
McGregor has been planning for life away from the UFC for some time. He has two fights left under his contract but recently became a part-owner of BKFC. McGregor has said he is willing to fight in the promotion once his UFC contract expires. He also talked up the promotion’s capability by encouraging fighters to see the BKFC as an alternative to the UFC. The main face of the promotion is Mike Perry. Perry is undefeated with a 5-0 record, as he took on Jake Paul. With McGregor adding his name to the franchise, it will only boost BKFC’s growing brand.
McGregor On BKFC
“For me, I’ve got a bit of business left with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, two fights left on my contract. But for sure we have three lightweights up here and I have my eye on all of this. I’m not here up here just as a knower, player-manager I’d title myself on this. That’s me. I am coming to the end of my contract. I have two fights left. This is a very, very exciting organization here. How could you not?
“How could you not look to become a two-sport world champion in something as wild as a bareknuckle fighting organization. We’ve got the money, too. We’ve got the dough. This is big payouts here, also – big pay, big shows, big news, and a coveted world title in a wild and dangerous game. For any real fighter out there, that’s all you want to hear. Money, power, respect – Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has it all,” McGregor said
McGregor’s dealings have made him financially secure. He set up the Proper 12 Irish Whiskey brand and sold his stake in the company for $600 million in 2021. He also became the highest-paid athlete on Forbes in 2021, outdoing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. His return against Chandler showed his pulling power. The live gate set a new UFC record of over $20 million. Meanwhile, the tickets for the press conference were sold out in nine minutes. Life for McGregor outside of the UFC is looking good.
