McGregor Joins HITMAN World Of Assassination Video Game
Conor McGregor will appear in the HITMAN World of Assassination video game.
The news comes shortly after McGregor pulled out of his UFC 303 fight against Michael Chandler. The Notorious suffered a broken toe, and he targets a return in September. The Irishman’s last UFC appearance was in 2021, as he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. It was McGregor’s third defeat in his previous four fights, as he suffered a broken leg.
During his time out since 2021, the Irishman has been engaging in various ventures. This included making his acting debut in Road House. He made $5 million for the film, making it the most someone has received for a debut project. Over 50 million viewers watched the film in the first two weeks when it aired on Amazon Prime Video, breaking streaming records. McGregor has also become a part-owner of BKFC. Now, he has added the video game to his list of feats. Nevertheless, the main focus is returning to fighting in the UFC.
McGregor’s Game
“We just adjust. Everything is moving. Everything is moving parts, so I’m good. The injury is a nuisance. It’s painful. I’m not going to lie. It’s very, very painful – probably even more than the leg, and that’s the truth. I’ll tell you why: The leg was at least wrapped up. I couldn’t access it. The foot is just there still. It’s like it’s exposed or something. It’s a bit painful, but it comes with the territory. I need to just dial it in, get my training camps correct. August-September … August-September, I’d love. You know the way it is. I’m in recovery mode,” McGregor said
The Irishman received a mixed reaction initially for withdrawing from some of his fellow UFC fighters. UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev called McGregor a chicken. Meanwhile, Nate Diaz defended the Irishman, saying he would have pulled out if he was not fit. The attention turned towards how UFC Light Heavyweight Champion Alex Pereira broke his toe two weeks before his UFC 300 fight with Jamahal Hill.
McGregor’s Injury
It was a huge bout at UFC 300 as the Brazilian was headlining in the second defense of his title. But rather than pull out with injury, Pereira went ahead with the fight. He delivered and stopped Hill in the first round. The news of the injury came out after the win, with Alex getting more praise. Pereira refuses to criticise McGregor’s choice as he prepares to face Jiri Prochazka at UFC 300.
“I can never judge people’s pain, and it’s different scenarios, different situations. He made his name, he made his money, and I’m kind of halfway there. I fought with a broken toe in my situation, but maybe if I were in his situation, maybe I would’ve not fought, so I can’t judge,” Pereira said
Unlike other UFC fighters, McGregor does not need to fight for money. But he is unlikely to go out on a loss to Poirier, so he will want to return with a win.
