McGregor Is Looking ‘So Sharp’ – Says Ciaran Clarke

Ciaran Clarke, who happens to be Conor McGregor’s stablemate, has talked up the Irishman’s form amid a rumored return to the Octagon in December.
McGregor has been absent from the cage since his loss to Dustin Poirier in 2021. The defeat was accompanied by a broken leg as McGregor underwent surgery and had a long recuperation period in the hope of returning.
The ‘Notorious’ did aim to come back this year to face Michael Chandler. However, his failure to enter the USADA testing pool has disrupted those plans.
Under the rules, fighters must submit two negative samples over a six-month period to be able to fight. Therefore, the current timeline suggests that Conor cannot fight unless he is given an exemption.
Regardless of what the case may be, Clarke was impressed by what he had seen of McGregor in training.
McGregor’s Form
“He’s sharp. He’s just after receiving the jiu-jitsu black belt, which is well deserved because his movement and everything. And like I said his mind, his mind for the game, he’s so sharp mentally. And again, that was something that I learned from over there. Resting when you need to, and giving 100% in every session…And as far as December, he’s gonna be really sharp, really ready for that fight,” Clarke
Ultimately, until Conor announces an official fight date, his future remains uncertain. After all, Dana White had recently confirmed that he was not sure over McGregor’s steps moving forward.
That was a massive revelation, given McGregor’s comments about wanting to return. The ‘Notorious’ has called out Justin Gaethje following the latter’s win over Poirier to become the new BMF title holder.
Meanwhile, McGregor has also targeted Sean Strickland following his win over Israel Adesanya by teasing a move up to 185.
Regardless of those names being thrown about, White did not have a conclusive view over McGregor’s future.
White On McGregor
“Dana says there is no clue of what’s next for Conor. They will wait to announce when Conor’s back and see the landscape,” Jason Hagholm (reporter)
