McGregor Dropped From Hitman Game After Losing Sexual Assault Case - Is This The End?

Conor McGregor has been removed from the Hitman video game, ‘Hitman: World of Assassination,’ after he was found liable for sexual assault.

Reports indicate McGregor will pay approximately $258,440 to Nikita Hand after the latter filed a lawsuit, claiming the Irishman sexually assaulted her at a hotel room in Dublin in 2018. McGregor’s friend James Lawrence was also mentioned in the case. Lawrence was not found liable, leaving McGregor to face the brunt of the case.

The Notorious maintained that he was not guilty. However, the jury held him accountable as he indicated his intention to appeal. But the findings have begun to have consequences for the Irishman. The Hitman franchise has reacted immediately to remove any association with McGregor, recognizing that it will call into question their brand.

Hitman Reacts

“In light of the recent court ruling regarding Conor McGregor, IO Interactive has made the decision to cease its collaboration with the athlete, effective immediately. We take this matter very seriously and cannot ignore its implications. Consequently, we will begin removing all content featuring Mr. McGregor from our storefronts starting today,” Hitman franchise

McGregor is also facing pressure in his personal and professional life. He has not had a UFC fight since 2021. Conor came up short against Dustin Poirier, losing his third fight out of four at UFC 264. He broke his leg in what was a career-threatening injury. He was scheduled to fight Michael Chandler at UFC 303.

However, he could not make the fight due to his broken toe. A fight with Dan Hooker was mentioned by McGregor for February 1. However, the UFC has not backed up those claims, leaving McGregor with serious questions over his career. He still has two fights left on his UFC contract, while the date of his next fight is still uncertain.

McGregor’s Issues

Dana White recently said he expects McGregor to fight later in 2025. However, the Irishman’s legal issues could prevent that, especially if he goes ahead with his appeal. It will also require McGregor to have a tough mindset, especially since fighters may not take too kindly to a McGregor return.
McGregor’s relationship with his fiancée Dee Devlin has also come under scrutiny. The pair have four children, while Hand was allegedly known to Devlin. McGregor has now admitted he should have acted differently, as he regretted the incident.

“People want to hear from me, I needed time. I know I made mistakes. Six years ago, I should have never responded to her outreaches. I should have shut the party down. I should never have stepped out on the woman I love the most in the world. That’s all on me. As much as I regret it, everything that happened that night was consensual.

“And all the witnesses present swore to that under oath. I have instructed my legal team to appeal the decision. [And] I can’t go back and I will move forward. I am beyond grateful to my family, friends and supporters all over the world who have stayed by my side. That’s it. No more. Getting back to the gym- the fight game awaits,” McGregor stated
