McGregor Drinks Forge Irish Stout At BKFC Event
Conor McGregor drank a can of Forged Irish Stout as he appeared at a BFKC event.
McGregor recently became a part-owner of the franchise, as he plans his career post-UFC. He has two fights left on his UFC contract, and he is expected to fight Michael Chandler once he returns from his broken toe. The Notorious has already talked up the promotion, telling fighters it is an alternative to the UFC. McGregor also stated that he is willing to fight in BKFC once his UFC contract is up.
“For me, I’ve got a bit of business left with the Ultimate Fighting Championship, two fights left on my contract. But for sure we have three lightweights up here and I have my eye on all of this. I’m not here up here just as a knower, player-manager I’d title myself on this. That’s me. I am coming to the end of my contract. I have two fights left. This is a very, very exciting organization here. How could you not?
“How could you not look to become a two-sport world champion in something as wild as a bareknuckle fighting organization. We’ve got the money, too. We’ve got the dough. This is big payouts here, also – big pay, big shows, big news, and a coveted world title in a wild and dangerous game. For any real fighter out there, that’s all you want to hear. Money, power, respect – Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship has it all,” McGregor said
McGregor’s Appearance
To hype up their events, McGregor was on hand to make a grand arrival during a KnuckleMania 4 event in Sturgis, South Dakota. The following clip shows McGregor walking out to the arena. He then got in the ring and drank a can of Forged Irish Stout.
“What’s more [bad] than bare knuckle and American rock and roll? Nothing baby, that’s what. Take off the gloves and fight, there’s nothing like bare knuckle,” McGregor said
McGregor’s Future
Nevertheless, fans expressed their concerns over McGregor. The Notorious recently stated that he would go sober for the Chandler fight. He has not had a UFC fight since 2021, when he lost to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. That was his third loss in four UFC fights, meaning he is not in the best form. He also broke his leg as he worked his way back from a career-threatening knee injury.
At 35, McGregor is not in his prime as he enters the latter end of his career. The fact that the Irishman struggles to keep himself disciplined has raised doubts about whether he will be the same fighter. The Notorious is a two-weight UFC champion, but can he ever get back to those levels? This is especially true given his prior comments about his drinking, which he has backtracked on.
“That’s unbelievable folks. I’ve six weeks… I’ve been off the drink, I’ve been off my beautiful products since the 10-week mark. We’re five weeks and five days out and I’m taking this seriously,” McGregor revealed
