McGregor Blasts Lobov – ‘A Rat Who Claims Benefits In Ireland, Your Country’s At War’
Conor McGregor has lashed out at Artem Lobov, his one-time friend and sparring partner.
Their relationship is no longer on good terms after Lobov sued McGregor. He accused the Irishman of owing him millions following the sale of McGregor’s prior Proper 12 whiskey brand. The sale earned McGregor $600 million, with Lobov alleging that he was a co-founder. Lobov then sued McGregor for defamation. While McGregor would win the defamation case, with Lobov paying The Notorious damages, the legal case over the Proper 12 brand is still ongoing. Now, McGregor has launched a verbal assault on his former training mate.

“Born in Russia, in Ireland on benefits. You rat…your country is at war and you are in Ireland hiding claiming benefits and SWEARING ON YOUR CHILD’S LIFE. Your day is coming mark my words. Let me start by saying that I swear on my child’s life I will NOT take a cent out of the whiskey deal!!! That is something I enjoyed doing and the thought of knowing that I helped you with something keeps me warm on the coldest of nights.’ Swearing on your child’s life you sick rat…YOU DONE..,[nothing] ALL ON MY DEAL YOU…CLOWN…Rats always get got,” McGregor said
The comments pose a further distraction in light of McGregor’s current situation. He withdrew from his UFC 303 fight with Michael Chandler, stating that he had injured his toe. The Irishman received mixed responses to the news. UFC Lightweight Champion Islam Makhachev accused McGregor of being a chicken. Meanwhile, Nate Diaz defended McGregor, saying he would have done the same if he was not 100 percent.
Alex Pereira vs. Jiri Prochazka will take place instead, leaving McGregor looking on. The Irishman hopes to return by September. That could put him in contention to fight at The Sphere in Las Vegas. The UFC will host its UFC 306 card in what will be the first combat sports event at the arena. There are other fighters who are in contention to headline. Alexa Grasso has indicated her desire to fight on the card. There are suggestions that her trilogy with Valentina Shevchenko could take place.

“That’s the plan. That’s the fight I would like to happen. I have to be part of Noche UFC. How can I not be part of Noche UFC this year? So I just truly hope she can accept the fight. It’s good for both of us… I think that’s [Manon’s] opportunity too. She’s the No. 2 contender and she’s been having a nice winning streak. So just in case if it’s not Valentina, I think it’s going to be Manon.
“It’s a fight I would like to have. The trilogy is something I would truly love. Because it will be the first trilogy from women’s MMA. Both were coaches on TUF, I’m from Mexico, she’s from Kyrgyzstan. We have a lot of history and I’m truly inspired to be competing with someone at this high, high level,” Grasso said
With that being said, White does not expect McgGregor to return by the fall.
