McGregor Announces Run For Irish PM – ‘Vote McGregor’

Conor McGregor has announced that he is going to be running for the presidency of Ireland.
McGregor is moving closer to entering politics after he recently visited Donald Trump at the White House. During their discussion, McGregor praised Trump’s work ethic and spoke about Ireland’s problem in dealing with illegal immigration. Irish Prime Minister Micheál Martin hit back at McGregor’s comments, stating that the country did not represent his views.
McGregor does not have a strong popularity in Ireland following his recent civil sexual lawsuit. Nikita Hand accused him of sexual assault at a Dublin hotel room. Although McGregor maintained that he was innocent, he was subsequently ordered to pay her damages and legal fees. That damaged his reputation in the country, with many brands cutting ties with him.
The Proper No. 12 Irish Whiskey brand confirmed they would not be using him in their marketing. The Hitman video franchise game also cut ties with McGregor, whilst airports in Dublin and Cork stated that they would not stock his beverages. However, McGregor is not backing down from his views as he announced his run for the presidency.
McGregor Reacts
“Ireland must fully implement the EU Migration Pact by June 12, 2026. So between now and 12 June 2026, several pieces of legislation have to be passed by both Houses of the Oireachtas & then signed by the President. The next presidential election must take place by 11 Nov 2025 Who else will stand up to (the) Government and oppose this bill? Any other Presidential candidate they attempt to put forward will be of no resistance to them. I will! For clarity also, as President, I would put forth this bill to referendum. Although I oppose greatly this pact, it is neither mine nor governments choice to make.
“It is the people of Irelands choice! Always! That is a true democracy! I would also be curious to hear our government officials reasoning for agreeing with this pact so fervently. I would love to hear the debates! Followed then by vote! This is the future of Ireland with me as President. All citizens of Ireland to have a voice and a choice on their future! God bless our people! Vote McGregor and have your voice heard!,” McGregor said
UFC Future
This naturally raises question marks over his other ventures. McGregor has not been in the Octagon since his defeat to Dustin Poirier. That was the third loss out of his previous four fights, as he suffered a broken leg. He has been desperate to make a return to the Octagon, having been on course to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303.
However, he had to pull out of that fight with a broken toe, while a fight against Dan Hooker never materialized. McGregor still has two fights left on his UFC contract, meaning he still has something to give. He is also a part owner of BKFC, as he has been linked with making his debut in that organization. But if McGregor wants to make a serious run for the presidency, it could signal the end of his fighting.
