Floyd Mayweather praised new president Donald Trump in a strong statement of support.

Trump secured his second term after defeating Kamala Harris as he took office in January. The President has made a series of moves which have raised a strong reaction. He appointed Elon Musk, who is currently overseeing the Department of Government Efficiency, otherwise known as DOGE. Trump received a significant amount of support from the combat sports industry before taking office.

Dana White spoke at the Republican National Convention, having done so previously in 2016, 2020 and 2024. Joe Rogan also endorsed Trump as he allowed the President to appear on his podcast. Trump had also gone through a significant event after having survived an assassination attempt on his life. While the President is still early in his presidency, Mayweather made his views very clear. He felt that Trump was the best President that America had ever had, as he praised his ability for being a strong businessman.

Mayweather Reacts

“In America, we’re never happy. I’m happy, but we’re never happy. We had Trump before, we didn’t appreciate him. But I think Trump is a great president, actually, he’s the best president in my eyes. He’s the best president we ever had. Great businessman, and that’s what it’s about. Trump has done an amazing job. And a lot of people around America are upset, but no matter who goes in the White House, we’re always upset. I think Trump is the man for the job. He’s the best president, in my eyes,” Mayweather said

Outside of presidential matters, reports indicate that Mayweather could be having his next exhibition soon. Mayweather turned 48 this month and has continued to box since his retirement. His last professional boxing fight was a win against Conor McGregor, which took him to 50-0. Since then, he has had numerous exhibitions.

Mayweather’s Mindset

He has faced off against fighters such as Logan Paul, Deji and John Gotti III in his last bout. Mayweather showed no signs of slowing down. He has previously said that he will continue to pick up paydays if the opportunity presents itself. He has consistently denied rumors that he is suffering from financial worries, even recently shutting down Eddie Hearn in the process.

“I don’t think he’s got the money he says, that’s what I think. I don’t think he needs the money but you know when you’ve got that lifestyle, when he’s spending what he’s spending. Imagine how much Floyd Mayweather would have made if I was his promoter, do you know what I’m saying?,” Hearn

“Eddie was like, ‘Floyd Mayweather Junior ain’t got no money’. ‘That’s why he doing exhibitions’. Eddie don’t believe that. I know he says some stuff like that, but me and Eddie got it clear. Listen I had to show Eddie some of my accounts,” Mayweather said

Mayweather’s comments about Trump have raised a strong reaction on social media.
